Food Archaeologist Alan Coxon's New TV Series 

Food Archaeologist Alan Coxon recently filmed a new food and travel TV show entitled "From Birmingham to Bombay". It’s a 5-part series that investigates five of the world’s most popular curry recipes, the spices used within them, the history and their global influences. While filming the Tandoori recipe and looking into the history of the Tandoor oven in Amritsar, Alan had the pleasure of visiting a Communal Kitchen, only 100 yards from the famous Golden Temple. The kitchen, consisting of hard mud and stone floor with corrugated roof, was run by a small army of volunteers who cooked for 40,000 people a day, seven days per week, with the exception of Sundays, when they cooked for up to 200,000 with all meals free to anyone. Alan watched as thousands of Chapattis were rolled and cooked by hand by men and women cross legged on some old matting. The noise was incredible and the organization was strangely remarkable. The aim of the operation was to ensure the poor and hungry are always fed a hot meal. Until Alan’s visit he had never heard of, nor would he have believed of such a service of humanity, a story that he wanted to share and one that he hopes may bring a thought or two of what we in the modern first world countries are doing to support our poor and hungry. Enterprising Alan finds recipe for success 

TV chef Alan Coxon has been named the top entrepreneur in the Midlands. 
The Evesham-based businessman won the title of Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2012 Midlands Business Awards, held on Friday 3 February at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel.

He beat off the challenge of four other finalists to scoop the award. 

 “I am really delighted and honoured to have had my efforts recognised,” said Alan, who has recently returned to the television screens. “It makes all the hard work by me and the whole of my team, including my family, worthwhile.

“Winning on your home patch has a special resonance and the business will remain firmly anchored in Evesham.” 
Alan, who received his award from sponsor Nick Aston of Prosser Knowles, has built up his Coxon’s Kitchen business and has established a reputation as one of the world’s favourite TV chefs and presenters, with exceptional culinary talent and an unparalleled knowledge for the earliest origins of ingredients.

Alan has worked in Michelin star restaurants, written three cook books and created a multi award winning historic food range, with the creation of the 15th century Ale-Gar range of vinegars. 

This is the sixth year that the awards, organised by Leamington Spa-based UK Special Events, have taken place.
Its MD Harj Sandher said: “We are delighted with the quality of the entrants this year and very pleased for Alan.”

Winner of the Entrepreneur of the year award 2012 - 04/02/12
 I am delighted to announce that on Friday 3rd Feb 2012, I was awarded the Midlands "Entrepreneur of the year award 2012" .

The awards ceremony took place at the NEC in Birmingham in front of an esteemed audience of over 400 business men and women from around the region.

This year saw an increased amount of entries for the award that were judged by a leading panel of jurors from the business communities and narrowed down to a  shortlist of 5  finalists. 

It is an honour and privilege to have been selected as the winner of this award against such strong competition and to have been recognised for the work and efforts that have, and are being made over the years.
New TV show and 5 part series ! - 16/10/11

After nearly 2 years of absence from British TV screens, Chef / presenter / author and broadcaster Alan Coxon is back ! 

For  the past few years Alan had to place TV shows on the back boiler whilst developing and pro actively getting his historic food range onto the global markets, launching  and travelling to food festivals across the length and breadth of the UK whilst  still developing global contacts and sales opportunities across the World.

We are  therefore delighted to announce that Alan has just been shortlisted for a prestigious “ Exporter of the Year award  2012“, highlighting that all his work and efforts have not gone in vein !

Alan is now focusing on further  TV work opportunities and has just agreed to present a new daily food show, whilst in addition to this, a new 5 part TV series that  is currently still in production and will be screened across the UK and the globe as from Spring 2012 (watch this space for further details ), a series that Alan has written, produced and presents. 

Alan is also finalising a stunning new cookbook to accompany the series, a book that also aims to be released as from Spring 2012.
