Bacon and Tomato Sauce with Ale-Gar

Notes: A nice easy sauce full of flavour and ideal as a sauce for pasta or as a base sauce for Pizza.
Fresh or tinned tomatoes can be used for this recipe
 
Ingredients:

Ingredients 

 1 onion finely chopped 

 2 cloves of garlic crushed 

 3 rashers of smoked streaky bacon, rind removed, and chopped fine 

 2 tablespoons virgin olive oil 

 400g tin of plum tomatoes 

 1 tablespoon of Ale-Gar 

 1 tablespoon chopped basil leaves 

 Salt and pepper 

 

 
Method:

Method 

1. Heat the oil 

2. Add the onion and cook for 2 minutes, then add the garlic 

3. Add the bacon and cook for a further 2 minutes 

4. Add the tomatoes, basil and Ale-Gar, simmer for 20-25 minutes 

5. Just add seasoning to taste
